Teeth Whitening

This is perhaps the most commonly recommended cosmetic dentistry procedure. Teeth are often stained from smoking, food, drink (coffee, tea, or red wine), or poor oral hygiene. Bleaching the teeth can enhance the appearance of your smile.

Dental Veneers

Plastic or porcelain laminates bonded to the surface of a tooth to replace chips and cracks will improve a worn appearance or severe tooth discoloration. Veneers may also be recommended if you have gaps in your teeth or if you have not had success with teeth whitening.
Dental Veneer is one of the most popular treatment solution for those who have discolored, slightly misaligned or chipped front teeth, to achieve a flawless looking beautiful smile.
Veneers are the custom-made which are used to fit over an existing tooth, bonded to the front surface of the tooth, unlike the crown which covers the whole tooth. Veneers complement your natural teeth by having a translucent light reflecting quality, a natural choice for restoring your smile.
A dental veneer is generally required the two appointments, the first appointment will be the preparation of the each tooth by removing a very small amount of the enamel from the tooth surface. At the second appointment, we check your veneers for size, comfort and shape for being securely placed into the position and creating a perfect smile.

At the time of a dental emergency, we ask some of the series of the questions about the severity of the injury, pain and illness, which is called Triage. This helps in understanding about the dental emergencies which requires the more urgent treatment than the others. We assure that the Triage is performed by a senior clinical staff. Dental & Maxillofacial Emergencies may include dental pain, bleeding and facial swelling, any kind of trauma affecting your mouth, and an accident involving your teeth or mouth. An emergency appointment can be made 24 hours by call.

The oral hygiene is something you and your children can practice at home by brushing at least twice a day and flossing after taking meal. This is the great way to keep your smile sparkling and healthy between the visits to your dentist, but it does not take the place of the in-depth cleaning we offer.
DMFS offers the most comprehensive cleaning to maintain your kids' dental hygiene, and assure the prevention or reverse the gum disease. We also perform the fluoride treatment and the variety of dental options to keep your breath smelling fresh.
We know how important a smile for the child’s confidence is, we have always been passionate about educating children from an early age for the advantages of looking after their teeth and gums.

The Dental implants are the man-made 'tooth roots' which are carefully crafted of the lightweight titanium. The titanium is a strong and safe material which is used for the dental implants to replace the missing tooth. The tooth implant are surgically placed into the jawbone, where these 'roots' will use to attach the new teeth as well, as they are connected with the surrounding bones of the jaw.
DMFS assures the proper care and long term potential of dental implants which last a lifetime.
The Dental implant can be used to;
  • Replacement of the single tooth or many single teeth using one implant per tooth, with the ceramic crown which secures the top of the implant in order to give the appearance and functionality of the natural tooth.
  • Secure the partial or full ceramic fixed bridge/ denture.
  • Retain removable dentures to prevent the movement and improve the efficiency.
Anyone who is healthy enough to undergo oral surgery or the routine dental extractions can considered for dental implants. Whereas those patients who are suffering from systemic problems or behaviors, chronic diseases and the heavy smoking may not be a good candidate.
The dental implant procedure is brief and takes place in a single visit, but it requires the healing period of up-to three months where the bonding/integration with the bone takes place. Most of the patients use a temporary bridge during this time.

A denture is a removable appliance used to restore missing teeth, restore your smile and helps you to chew properly. Dentures are a cheaper alternative to a bridge or implant for restoring missing teeth. They can be removed after meals and before bedtime to allow the patient to easily clean their gums and remaining teeth.
Dentures can have either be a metal or acrylic framework. We use high quality metal and acrylic materials to ensure your dentures fit precisely, so that they are more comfortable to wear and with time, will also feel quite natural in your mouth. We finish your dentures with a high gloss polish to reduce foods and stains from sticking to its surface.
Like your own teeth, dentures need special care to keep them looking great and feeling good for many years. Older dentures can be made to fit your gums better by having them relined, which can be a cheaper and better alternative to a new denture.
At our practice, dentures that need additional teeth or are broken can usually be repaired within a few hours.
Our goal is to provide the highest level of service and craftsmanship in fitting and fabricating dentures. We aim to do our utmost to exceed your expectations by offering a service that is perfectly tailored to meet your needs, expectations and budget.

We offer the dentistry services for the whole family, from children to adults. For a general well-being, good dental health and appearance is essential for everyone. It is recommended for the children to have a sound introduction to Dentistry. The children enjoy and feel happy in our practice, while our team makes the whole procedure comfortable for the kids.
We offer the following Dental Procedures for the whole family;

1- Dental Fillings:

Tooth decay, tooth wear and trauma are major causes of damage to a tooth. Dental fillings are used to repair damage to the structure of a tooth or teeth. After the removal of a problematic tooth structure, the tooth is restored with one of several filling materials: Amalgam and composite resin (white filling material) are the commonly used filling materials. Your dentist will advise you on which material to use and its advantages.

2- Bonding:

Chipped or cracked teeth are typically repaired through bonding. An enamel-like composite material is applied to the surface of a tooth, sculpted into shape, contoured and polished, making the crack or chip invisible.

3- Orthodontics:

Orthodontic treatment can be used to straighten crooked teeth and malocclusions which involved the teeth and jaws. Orthodontics is both a functional and cosmetic treatment, and has become an increasingly popular field of dentistry.

4- Root Canal Therapy:

Root canal therapy removes infected pulp tissue within the root chamber of the tooth. The root of the tooth is filled with an antibacterial filling, and a crown is placed over the tooth to protect it.

5- Dental Crowns:

Dental crowns provide an aesthetic and protective solution to teeth that have undergone root canal therapy and that are extensively restored due to decay or trauma. Dental crowns can be made of metal or metal fused to porcelain. Today zirconium crowns are being used for their strength and excellent aesthetics.

A Healthy Mouth

The inside of a healthy mouth is normally lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process. The most serious of these is oral cancer. The following can be signs which signal the beginning of an oral pathology.
Reddish patches (erythroplasia) or whitish patches (leukoplakia) in the mouth

ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT: AESTHETICS OR FUNCTION?

Orthodontic treatment is an excellent way to straighten crooked teeth. It has a dual action; restoration of function and improvement of aesthetics resulting in a healthy smile. Despite a growing trend towards adult orthodontics, it pays to start orthodontic treatment early so that the specific condition can be dealt with more efficiently and produce excellent results.

ORTHODONTIC EVALUATION

An orthodontic evaluation is carried out by the following:
  • Clinical examination
  • Intraoral and extraoral photographs plus study models
  • Panoramic and cephalometric radiographs
  • Impressions for the models of teeth and bite( i.e occlusion)
The results of the complete evaluation will be studied thoroughly by the dentist and an individual treatment plan is formulated to provide the best aesthetics and function.
During the next visit, the dentist will discuss the treatment plan with you or the parent/guardian in case of a child. The estimate of how many months will be required to complete the active phase will be discussed. The standard treatment phase comprises of two years. Following treatment, you may be required to wear a retainer for a period of time.
The duration of orthodontic treatment varies: it varies with a variety of factors such as age, severity of malocclusion and compliance which means that how well the patient follows the treatment plan For example younger persons respond more quickly to orthodontic treatment because bones supporting young teeth are more pliable as compared to those supporting older teeth. However, adults follow treatment instructions more consistently than pre-teens.

The periodic oral exams and regular dental cleaning are imperative for the prevention of gum disease, oral disorders and tooth decay. In addition to flossing and brushing thoroughly every day, it is recommended to have a professional dental cleaning after every few months. The routine cleaning can remove the tartar and stains, while maintaining an optimum oral health and prevention against gum disease. The ultrasonic machines and manual scalars are used for the removal of an external deposit on the teeth like tartar or stains. The ultrasonic machines are used to loosen the hard deposits as the sound waves, without causing any harm to the tooth. The teeth are polished afterwards to assure a thorough cleaning and prevention against any plaque to adhere.

Wisdom teeth Information

Wisdom teeth are the molars (back teeth) that come through last, usually in the late teens or early 20s. There are normally two wisdom teeth in the upper jaw and two in the lower jaw, but some people have less than four, or even none at all.
Wisdom teeth can be left in the mouth when they are healthy and properly positioned in the mouth. Extraction of third molars is generally recommended when:
  • Wisdom teeth erupt only partially.
  • Poorly aligned wisdom teeth will damage the adjacent teeth.
  • A cyst (fluid-filled sac) forms, destroying the surrounding structures such as bone & tooth roots.
  • The mouth is too small for these teeth to erupt in a proper position behind the second molar. This is also referred to as Partial Bony Impaction. The most common complication of the partial bony impaction, is that the flap of gum tissue which partially covers the erupting third molar, creates a pocket where bacteria that are present in the mouth can grow and cause an infection known as pericoronitis which can lead to swelling and pain. The treatment for pericoronitis is extraction of the third molar tooth.
  • Sometimes, the wisdom tooth comes through at an angle and pushes into the gum or the tooth beside it. This is called impaction. A wisdom tooth on an angle can’t help with chewing, which makes it useless and sometimes painful.

Problems with wisdom teeth

When there is not enough room in the jaw for wisdom teeth, it can stop them coming through properly. Brushing and flossing these teeth can be difficult. Food and bacteria can get stuck between the wisdom tooth and the tooth next to it, leading to tooth decay and gum infections.
Crowded wisdom teeth in the upper jaw often lean sideways and rub against the cheek. This may cause ulcers on the cheek and chewing problems. Wisdom teeth may also push the other teeth closer together and affect a person’s bite.

Symptoms of wisdom teeth infection:

Signs of gum infection caused by a wisdom tooth include: red, inflamed gum near the wisdom tooth;
  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • pus coming from the gum
  • the lymph glands under the jaw become swollen and sore
  • it may become difficult to open the mouth and to swallow
  • fever
Treatment for wisdom teeth infection
Infections caused by wisdom teeth can be treated with antibiotics. However, the infection may keep coming back if problem teeth are not removed. People who have other health problems, especially those with lower immunity, may have complications from these infections.
Removal of wisdom teeth:
X-rays will help to tell if wisdom teeth might cause problems. Some wisdom teeth do not cause problems and do not need to be taken out. Sometimes, the dentist or oral surgeon may just need to cut a small part of the gum to help the wisdom tooth come through.
If wisdom teeth do need to be taken out, a local or general anesthetic will be used, so you won’t feel it. Most wisdom teeth can be removed with local anesthesia alone.
Because wisdom teeth are large, the hole where the tooth was may be stitched to help it heal.
It is normal for your jaw and gum to be sore, swollen and bleed for a few days after having a wisdom tooth out.
The risks and complications involved in the removal of third molars are:

PAIN

Surgical removal of the third molars can lead to some discomfort and pain. This is usually treated with pain medication.

INFECTION

Because of the large number of bacteria present in the mouth post-surgical infection is always possible. Patients are usually placed on prophylactic antibiotics to prevent infections from developing.

SWELLING

Following surgery patients may experience swelling and bruising. These symptoms vary between patients.

BLEEDING

Some post-surgical bleeding is considered normal. This is usually minimal and is easily controlled with the pressure of biting on gauze.

DRY SOCKET

One possible complication of wisdom teeth removal is a dry socket (alveolar osteitis), when the area where the tooth came out of doesn’t heal properly. Bad breath and pain from the socket are signs. A dry socket can be successfully treated by your oral health professional.
Wisdom teeth are best removed early:
Wisdom teeth don’t usually cause any pain until they start to do damage, so it is best to find out if your wisdom teeth are likely to cause problems sooner rather than later. The roots of wisdom teeth are still forming in a teenager so it is easier to take them out at this age. It may be more complicated if a person waits until later in life, when the roots are fully formed.
Our Expert Surgeons: Perform the surgery with utmost care to bring down the risk of complications to minimum.
